I’m Minerva Cedillo, and I teach the Professional Barbering and Haircutting courses here at AVL Academy. I proudly hold three active licenses: Esthetician, Barber, and Cosmetology. With more than 5 years of professional experience, I specialize in salon cuts, barber-style haircuts, and creative haircut designs. I also bring strong expertise in hair removal services, with speed, precision, and skill.

My true passion is to guide and mentor students in understanding the beauty industry while following the rules and regulations of the State Board. In addition, I prepare students for their state board exams across all licenses. Having passed my own licensing exams with high scores on the very first attempt, I know how to equip my students with both theory and practice so they feel confident, prepared, and ready to succeed.

I take the time to explain each step clearly, so they fully understand the process and can perform it professionally. My strongest specialty is in fade techniques, where I guide students to perfect their skills and achieve salon-quality results.

In addition to teaching, I am an active professional working in both a salon and a barbershop. Hello and welcome all! I’m Rene Alejandro Limon, one of AVL Academy founders. Hair has always been one of my greatest passions, growing up. I love to try and experiment in doing various of different hairstyles. I knew then that the beauty industry was my passion and my calling. I always dreamt of opening my very own beauty school and sharing my years of knowledge to others. Being in the beauty industry for little over 20 years, it’s extremely important to me to provide a positive and help learning environment for all student interested in learning. With over 15 years of experience, I currently work as a professional manicurist in the medical field, where precision and care are essential.

My specialties include advanced dry pedicure techniques and artistic nail design. I have participated in multiple nail design competitions, where my hand-painted creations have earned awards and recognition. These experiences have fueled my passion for nails and strengthened my commitment to excellence.

In the classroom, I focus on helping students develop a true love for beauty while mastering solid technical skills.
