Course

This course is designed for students who want to enter the world of beauty through Professional Haircutting. Based on cutting principles, Professional techniques and current trends that will help you for its perfect elaboration and correct completion. We will teach you how to use each hairdressing tool, positioning, posture and much more! All the techniques taught in our professional courses can be performed on a person as a client as long as you have a license as a cosmetologist  granted through the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. This program does not lead to a state license.

Professional Haircutting techniques Course (long, medium & short hair)

  • Introduction to the World of Haircutting.

  • Disinfection and sanitization of work tools.

  • Salon Services: Hair Blow-Dry and Flat Ironing.

  • Client consultation (Hair analisys).

  • Difference between hair protection products
  • Different haircut types and styling techniques.

  • Point cut for texture and layering.

  • Haircutting techniques for straight and curly hair.

  • Texturizing and finishing techniques.

  • Understanding of haircutting techniques: elevations, cutting lines, and reference axes.

  • Types of layered cuts for long hair 45°, 90°, 135° and 180°.

  • Bob Styles: Classic Square, Inverted (Concave), and Asymmetrical.

  • Body and hand positioning for effective technique execution.

  • Short hair initiation: high, medium, and low fade techniques.

  • Short haircuts: Pixie types and blending skills.

  • Styling Techniques for Long, Medium and Short Hair.

Professional Haircutting Kit including mannequins (100% human hair), cutting shears, combs, cape, styling tools, clips, stand, and carrying bag with notebook and pen.

Students who complete the course will receive a diploma certifying their approval of the program

COURSE OVERVIEW / CLASS SCHEDULE

1 day per week of 4 hours per class:

  • Tue: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Sat: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

  • Sat: 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM

No, our courses do not include a state license. They are designed to help you develop professional skills and hands-on experience.

To work legally in California, you must complete a state-approved licensing program and pass the required exam.

In California, there is no separate license specifically for haircutting. To work professionally, you must obtain a Cosmetology or Barbering license.

This requires completing a state-approved program and passing the licensing exam.

Yes, you will learn men’s haircutting techniques using scissors. This course focuses on haircutting, not barbering, so razor techniques are not part of the program.

Yes, we have classes focused on this type of technique, where you will use professional cutting machines and techniques for fades such as high, medium, and low fade.

The student kit includes a long hair mannequin, a set of cutting combs, a set of professional salon brushes, a set of professional cutting scissors, a cutting cape, an apron, a continuous spray bottle, and much more. The cutting machines are included in the new version of Phase I and II of the long and short haircut courses.

Licensing schools focus on meeting state requirements and preparing students to pass the licensing exam.
