Yes, you will receive a Pro Student Kit that includes products, accessories and tools depending the course you are enrolled. You will use your kit in each class to develop the techniques taught by the course instructor. Once the kit is delivered to you, you can also use it at home to carry out the tasks that the instructor indicates after each class.

Yes, the instructor will specify what you need to bring in some of your classes, since most of the material provided in the kit will be used for practice, the instructor will specify if there is any additional items needed.

Yes, you must bring your model where you will practice applications techniques that were taught during the theory part of the program. Your instructor will recommend when to start bringing models. Models do not have to pay to participate.

To enroll in our professional courses you must be over 16 years old, bring a valid ID and a credit or debit card that we will keep on record in your file.

No, you will not be working with real models; the courses will focus solely on mannequins.

Your classes are not lost at any time. Our Student Coordination Department will notify you of the recovery date to assist your missed class, the recovery fee is $99.

The full cost of the training varies per course which can be financed or paid in full.

There are 3 enrollment options:

We offer a direct payment plan from the academy that makes it easy for you to make payments every time you come to your weekly class. The payment plan varies depending on the course you enroll in. You can also pay for the course in full or with the financed payment plan associated with your course, with a 10% interest.

It is not necessary to have a license to take this program, but remember that to work in a beauty shop, you must have a California license in Cosmetology or Barbering. At AVL Academy we offer the Cosmetology and Barbering program. Consult our admissions department for more information.

Yes, in order for us to give you the certificate you must complete and have attended all your classes, you must also have delivered each task that the instructor assigned to you during the course. You will not be able to attend the graduation ceremony if you have a class or assignment pending.

Your training in the academy continues, completing the 220 – 320 hours of RSI, but remember that it is necessary to find a barbershop in your area and a trainer willing to
teach you, in order to request your PRE LICENSE and meet the 3200 hours of OJT. If at the end of the 220 – 320 hours of RSI, you need to complete hours of OJT, your program is extended so that you can complete the hours, which will incur additional charges for extra instruction.

If you do not pass a chapter exam, continue with the next chapter until you complete the entire program. Once completed, you move to the final recovery phase where your program is extended, generating additional costs to the total cost of the program. This phase is designed for the student to go to the Academy 4 days face-to-face per month of 4 hours per class, where 2 days will be so that you can consult any questions you have about the chapters or exams that you did not pass and the other 2 days will be an exam where you can recover a maximum of 2 exams per day. Remember that this final recovery phase will resort to additional expenses for extension of your program.
The main difference is that you study and work at the same time that you acquire real experience in a beauty salon meeting the requirements of the apprentice program.

Yes, so that in order for us to give you the certificate you must complete all the hours of the program and obtain a minimum of 90% of continuous attendance, you must also have approved each task that the instructor assigns them during the course.

Once you receive the final approval from us and our sponsor school of the Cosmetology or Barbershop apprentice program (WHAM School), a graduation date will be scheduled where we will give you your certificate of completion of the program through a special event.

At the end of the training of the program, the status of the student will be reviewed by means of a performance report and compliance with the requirements of the program. This report will help us determine if the student is missing RSI or OJT hours. In case you complement your program and you are missing hours, your program is extended so that you can complete the hours, which will incur additional charges for extra instruction. That is, you are scheduled so that you can recover your RSI hours and pay a monthly payment until you complete the time you need to meet the requirement of 220 – 320 minimum hours required by the state for the satisfactory completion of the program.
