Professional Course FAQs

No, the professional nail techniques course offered at AVL Academy is a 12-week course where you learn professional techniques, decorating trends, and product management for manicure and pedicure. If you wish to obtain a manicurist or cosmetology license, you must contact state-accredited schools that provide training for obtaining a license in California or any state of your preference. Remember, these schools only provide training and ensure you meet the state requirements for obtaining your license. After completing your training, you will need to go to a state facility to take a final exam, and upon passing, you will be issued your license.

No, to work in a professional beauty salon or nail salon, or if you want to offer services on your own, you must have a manicurist or cosmetology license issued by the state of California or any other state where you live and provide services.

Yes, we offer training in both manicure and pedicure techniques.

We do not have that information as we do not provide training for obtaining the license. For this, we recommend visiting the official website of the California Board of Cosmetology and Barbering and looking for accredited schools. There you can find the information and requirements set by the state for obtaining a manicurist or cosmetology license. The state offers full-time or part-time training programs and apprenticeship systems. You need to contact them for more information and guidance on the nearest school to your residence.

You should obtain either a manicurist license or a cosmetology license.

No, to work in a professional beauty salon, nail salon, or to offer services on your own, you need a manicurist or cosmetology license issued by the state of California or any other state where you live and provide services.

This course is designed for both people with no experience and those who already have experience but want to improve their techniques and gain greater knowledge in the world of nails, applying professional techniques and experiencing a real salon environment. Remember that when pursuing a license, you start with more in-depth theory related to nails, learning the state’s regulations, how to apply them when working with a real person, and only receive basic nail practice. The state does not focus on the outcome of the techniques or decorations applied to your client or model’s nails; it is concerned with proper prevention, sanitization, and avoiding any irreparable harm to the person you work with or provide services to. With our course, you learn 20% theory and 80% practical classes on a mannequin, applying basic and advanced techniques that help you learn how to perform acrylic and hard gel nail services in trend, how to work with professional products used in the nail world, and much more. At AVL Academy, we offer you the opportunity to experience the nail world before obtaining your license or to perfect your techniques once you have it.
